Why is it hard to turn over while skydiving?

Oftentimes skydiving coaches warn inexperienced divers to keep the front of their bodies facing the ground. They say that turning over is hard to do. If that’s even true, then why is it so? Wouldn’t it be easy to turn over, as the turn would lessen air resistance as opposed to increasing it?

Will civilian Skydiving experience help chances of getting in to Airborne training?

I am curious if having civilian skydiving experience would help some one get in to airborne school if they enlisted as Infantry in the U. S army. Any ideas or knowledge that could help. My father was in the 101st Airborne Division during Vietnam and its always been my dream to be airborne. Admittedly I have a bit of a fear of heights but I keep pushing myself to get over my fears. You have to beat your fears or they will beat you.
